The Meaning Behind the EnviroCareer brand and Dragonfly Logo

We’re often asked about the EnviroCareer name and what the logo represents. We first shared this story on World Mosquito Day (20 August, 2025), a reminder of the millions of lives affected by mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria, Zika, dengue, yellow fever, and chikungunya. It felt like the right moment to explain the design, because our brand is about more than a dragonfly chasing a mosquito – it’s about the purpose driving our work in environmental science and public health.

Here’s what our name and logo stands for:

Our Name

The name EnviroCareer says what we stand for. “Enviro” reflects the environmental sectors we represent and importantly, it points to the planet and environment we work hard to protect. “Career” is about the people and journeys of those driving that positive change. Our job is to connect purpose-driven organisations with the talent who can make it happen.

Even the dot of the “i” in EnviroCareer is part of the design. It represents an insect – the prey of the dragonfly. This reflects pursuit, whether that’s employers searching for the right candidates or candidates chasing new roles. The logo connects the story of the dragonfly with the challenges of our industry.

Brand Colours

We chose the Clean The Environment colour scheme to bring our brand to life. Myrtle Green, Granny Smith Apple, Rainbow Indigo, Amazon, and Key Lime are not just striking names – they reflect the natural balance and healthier environments our sectors work to protect. The palette complements our dragonfly and “i-dot” device, while adding a fresh touch of energy.
