Summary:
Introductory Level Employee. To provide the necessary labor required to package and produce our finished products. Manufacturing 1 performs various clean up and warehousing tasks of any nature.
Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
- Requires working outside in the elements
- Learn raw materials used in manufacturing process, where the materials are stored and where they are used
- Read and understand a batch ticket to know which raw materials and quantities will be needed to make batch
- Open/close process valves to divert products into the correct tanks
- Turn agitators on and off to each tank as needed
- Use Proper dumping technique of metal/fiber drums and super sacks
- Perform their assigned tasks with little or no supervision.
- Recognize problems within their assigned work areas.
- Be able to recognize problems with the mechanical equipment in the unit.
- Have at least a basic understanding of up and downstream unit operations.
- Assist or take charge of activating or deactivating equipment using the site Lock-Out/Tag-out program
- Report any unsafe working conditions to the Supervisor.
- Constantly check to ensure safe conditions.
- Perform routine work area cleanup duties to maintain high housekeeping standards for safe unit operation.
- Perform work area rounds to verify normal unit and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school education preferred.
Experience:
- None required, prior manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills:
- Be able to carry 75 lb. packages up to 6 feet.
- Able to verbally communicate changes, problems, or emergency information to supervision and other operators in the unit.
- Ability to read and understand SDS information.
- Ability to work outside in the elements.
Training: Must complete initial HAZ COM, HAZ MAT, Powered Industrial Truck, Confined Space, PPE, Fire Protection, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Fall Protection training.
