We're growing and looking for a Lead Operations Technician to join our Mosquito Services team in Wellington! If you like working with people, enjoy being outside, and want a role that's active, hands-on, and meaningful, this could be a great fit. If sitting at a desk all day is not your thing, come help us protect public health while doing work that makes a real difference in the community.
Based out of our Wellington office, this role spends most of its time in the field supporting mosquito control operations for our customers. That can include inspecting breeding sites, sampling water sources, setting and collecting traps, applying larvicides using a backpack sprayer, UTV, or by hand, treating catch basins by truck or bicycle, supporting sentinel chicken surveillance, and adulticiding along established routes in a company vehicle.
This role also helps keep the operation running smoothly by supporting the team with office and field coordination tasks like seasonal crew orientation and training, quality checks, mapping issues, and crew check-outs. In short, you'll be a go-to person who helps make sure customer expectations are met and daily operations stay on track.
One important note: this office also supports a sentinel chicken program, so candidates must be comfortable handling and caring for chickens, collecting blood samples, and submitting those samples for virus testing.
This is outdoor work, so you should be comfortable navigating heavy vegetation, uneven terrain, changing weather, and the occasional wildlife encounter.
We're looking for someone who is independent, motivated, detail-oriented, safety-minded, and ready to jump in.
If you've had some experience leading or training others and enjoy working outdoors, you'll likely feel right at home here.
Join us in helping make communities more livable, safe, and comfortable!

- Be comfortable using handheld technology, including smartphones, GPS, and system applications

- Be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through a variety of challenging terrain, including but not limited to water, heavy vegetation, and uneven land, across residential communities, urban environments, and forested areas, with conditions affected by the weather
- Be comfortable working outdoors in the elements, including Florida summer heat and humidity, and around wildlife on a regular basis
- Be able to read and follow maps
- Be able to lift and carry backpacks weighing up to 75 pounds
- Have good physical dexterity
- Be able to wear a respirator when needed (must be clean shaven on days respirator use is required)
