Love working with vehicles, tools, and equipment? Clarke is looking for a Seasonal Yard and Fleet Technician to help keep our fleet and field equipment in top shape during our busy season. If you've got solid hands-on mechanical experience and enjoy a mix of shop and outdoor work, this could be a great fit.
The Basics
- Starting at $17/hour, depending on experience
- Full-time seasonal role, typically 40+ hours per week
- Schedule is usually Monday–Friday, with occasional extended hours
- Season runs April through October
What You'll Be Doing
You'll help keep our vehicles, tools, and equipment safe, clean, and ready for action every day.
- Handle routine maintenance like oil changes, fluid checks, filters, and battery inspections
- Help with basic repairs and troubleshooting alongside senior mechanics
- Work on small engine equipment like ULV sprayers and ATVs
- Keep the yard, shop and vehicles clean, organized, and running smoothly
- Spot issues early and communicate repair needs

What We're Looking For
- Hands-on mechanical experience with vehicles, equipment, small engines, or similar
- Comfort with preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and using basic hand and power tools safely
- Mechanical experience can come from work, trade school, or personal projects
Also Important
- 18+ with a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions
- Comfortable using basic technology like smartphones, GPS, and apps
- Flexible to occasionally work evenings or weekends
- Willing to cross-train and pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)
