The Field Supervisor will provide support to the Operations Team in the field and/or operational base in Wellington, Florida. He/she is responsible for helping with the administration of the office including crew scheduling, training, quality assurance checks, mapping problems, inventory, employee relations, crew check outs, reports etc., in order to ensure customer expectations and objectives for all contracts in assigned territories are met. The Field Supervisor will participate in crew orientations and field training for RFT and Seasonal Field Technicians and will spend considerable amounts of time performing field operations alongside the Field Technicians.
Mosquito field activities may include inspection of breeding site using sample cup and dipper to sample water source, trap setting and collections, larviciding operations using backpack or UTV sprayer or hand application to street catchbasins using a company truck or bicycle for transportation, sentinel chicken surveillance and adulticiding while driving a truck with attached sprayer while following an established route.
***Please note that this office also supports aerial operations and sentinel chicken programs and candidate must be comfortable handling and caring for chickens, bleeding chickens and submitting their blood samples for presence of virus as well as providing ground support (in the evenings) for aerial missions as needed.
The field work will be performed outdoors, in an environment that may include heavy vegetation, uneven terrain, various species of wildlife and varying weather conditions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate or assist as necessary in scheduling of crew and operational activities.
- Assists in the job ticket flow process.
- Perform data entry of daily job tickets and contract information to ensure accurate and timely billing of services.
- Communicates with customers, Supervisor and Control Consultants as appropriate to resolve issues or complaints.
- Works closely with Control Consultant and Supervisor to ensure accurate understanding of contract specifications and customer expectations.
- Actively seeks ways to improve the quality and efficiency of operations within department and throughout organization.
- Advises Manager or other appropriate personnel regarding schedule conflicts, service related issues, equipment problems/issues, employee issues and any other job related issues.
- Assists with the training of all RFT and seasonal personnel.
- Keeps staff informed on the status of weekly schedule by preparing and communicating schedule, reviewing any problems, and encouraging feedback.
- Ensures that chemical inventory is maintained such that shortages do not occur and contract requirements are met. Keeps Supervisors, Manager and staff informed of chemical status and usage.
- Performs weekly cycle counts, orders chemical as necessary and prepares reports.
- Assigns trucks and equipment on a daily basis.
- Promptly advises appropriate personnel of vehicle and/or equipment damage or malfunction and follows up to make sure that action is taken to return vehicle or equipment to safe and proper working condition.
- Participates in recruiting activities as necessary to support staffing efforts.
- Participates as necessary in crew orientation, field training and on-going education activities to insure that employees know proper techniques, procedures and work rules.
- Performs quality assurance checks in the field.
- Performs field work during times of peak demand or staffing shortage.
- Performs basic maintenance on field equipment as necessary.
- Participates in and engages in programs and work practices designed to foster and maintain effective team atmosphere.
- Responsible for making sure safe work practices and procedures are followed at all times
Successful Candidate Must:
- Previous management or team lead experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience working in a fast paced outdoor service operation scheduling or dispatching strongly preferred
- Previous experience in mosquito control, aquatics or pest control operations is strongly preferred
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
- Ability to obtain state licenses within 90 days of hire (training provided)
- ***Please note some state licenses and contracts do require a criminal background check
- Proficiency with maps
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work a variable schedule, the schedule will be primarily days but may include some night spraying activities when needed
- Must be comfortable handling and taking blood samples from chickens (training provided!)
- Capability to lift up to 50-75 pounds occasionally and good physical dexterity
- Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
- Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through various and challenging terrain, including but not limited to water, heavy vegetation and uneven land, throughout residential communities, urban environments and forested areas where environmental conditions are affected by weather.
- Must be comfortable working out in the elements (Florida summer heat, humidity, etc) and around outdoor wildlife on a regular basis
- College degree in related field (Biological/Environmental sciences etc.) preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Possess high school level math skills
- Ability to effectively partner with cross functional teams to meet performance objectives and to support mission and vision of the Company
- Ability to travel (sometimes at short notice) to multiple site locations to meet the needs of the business as necessary

PAY AND BENEFITS
This is a non-exempt hourly position and the hiring range for this position is expected to be between $22.00 - $23.00.
