Skilled Gardener
Location: Greenwich Park
Hourly Rate: £14.80
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4pm and Friday 7:30am-3pm
About the role
As a key member of the Horticultural team, you will be responsible for maintaining some of the park's most prestigious gardens and landscapes, including The Rose Garden, St Mary's Garden, The Herb Garden, The Royal Observatory Garden, The Queen's House Border, and The Flower Garden, incorporating the lake, Edwardian Border and The Rockery.
You will undertake a range of park maintenance activities, including garden bed maintenance, grass cutting, hedge pruning and tree planting. In addition, with guidance and support from the Head Gardener and Supervisor, you will take the lead in managing the Ignatius Sancho Kitchen Garden, while also providing propagation support and cover for the Queen's Orchard.

Requirements
- Proven experience within the Horticultural industry, with experience and knowledge of growing and propagating fruit and vegetables, and formative and maintenance pruning of fruit trees and vines being highly desirable.
- Strong Horticultural knowledge - NVQ Horticulture/RHS Level 2 certificates and above would be beneficial. Ability to create and follow a sowing plan.
- Willingness to work with Volunteer groups and leading engagement sessions with schools and community groups.
- Full, clean UK driving license.
- Experience in The Royal Parks or other prestigious public spaces is desirable.
